Job Details
Successful candidate will engage in one academic year of post-doctoral study to earn national credential as Trainer of Reading Recovery Teacher Leaders.  Year one includes salary, travel, and tuition expenses. Studies will include theory, leadership and practicum tutoring first graders.  Upon successful completion of post-doctoral study, candidate joins the team of Trainers at NLU Reading Recovery Center for Literacy supporting a multi-state network of literacy leaders around Reading Recovery, Descubriendo la Lectura, and Literacy Lessons for Special Education and English Language Learners. 

The RR Center also serves as the  center for Illinois Partnerships in Comprehensive Literacy Model supporting school and district implementations with training and ongoing professional development for K-12 District Literacy Coaches and administrators.

Faculty entry rank  is Non-tenure Assistant Professor with possible teaching of undergraduate and graduate courses in the areas of literacy, writing, and language. See Standards and Guidelines document for full description of  RR Trainer role and responsibilities:
